A comparative study on the performance of a novel triangular solar air collector with tilted transparent cover plate

The application of solar air collector (SAC) in rural residence is beneficial to the realization clean heating areas and improvement thermal comfort residence, but available covered area for SAC on south wall limited. In this research, a novel triangular (TSAC) with tilted transparent cover plate proposed. With same area, TSAC can receive more irradiance, which improves heat collecting power. A mathematical model established. Experiments are conducted validate model. performances flat (FSAC) perforated corrugated absorber (PCA) compared analyzed under different operation conditions. Results indicate that: (1) power per unit (CPUWA) 60° (TSAC 60°) 100 ? 130 W/m2 higher than that FSAC. (2) efficiency increases faster increase due large plate. (3) During period, collection capacity fraction 24.3% 11.7% those FSAC, respectively.
